Is Money REALLY The Root Of All Evil?

August 24, 2020

In this episode, Brad and Jimmy debunk the well known saying, “Money is the root of all evil,” and describe why “something from nothing” is really the root of all evil.

You’ve undoubtedly heard it before. That the pursuit of money is an immoral endeavor. Maybe you’ve wrestled with those thoughts before or even hold them now. Brad and Jimmy have spent time examining the roots of this belief and have concluded that true evil is the attempt at cutting corners.

Today’s topic is a concept that is fundamentally misunderstood. And that misconception will most likely keep you from accomplishing what you want. If you are holding on to the belief that building wealth is an inherent evil, you won’t do a good job. Join us today as we examine the mindset that holds you back from living the life you’ve been dreaming of.

Taking Shortcuts to Earn Money

“Money is simply a tool. It is a means of exchange.”- Jimmy Vreeland

Money is typically used as the measuring stick to determine if the desired outcome has been achieved. What people fail to realize is the underlying process involved to acquire wealth.

Jimmy would tell you that whenever he is about to do something bad, it usually is because he is trying to get something for nothing. He wants the results but he doesn’t want to do all the work that is required. It’s the shortcut that is the evil here. Trying to get something for nothing means that you are taking from someone else. It forces you into immoral behaviors, and it hinders your growth. Like we always say, rising up means growing in the process. Getting something at someone else’s expense is the evil, not the money itself.

It’s human nature to want to take the easy route. Submitting to the process is complicated and pushes us out of our comfort zone. Reading the book Atlas Shrugged really set us on our journey to understanding that money is not the root of all evil. It is a true eye-opener, and the truths exposed in it will hit you like a ton of bricks.

We believe so strongly in this book that we included an excerpt from the Francisco D’anconia speech at the end of the podcast episode, so be sure to check that out!

Examining Why Money is Not the Root of All Evil

Money is a tool used by producers to facilitate trade. Scripturally, the love of money is the root of all evil. It essentially means that you want something for nothing.

“Nobody wants money. Money is the outcome not the driver.”- Bradley Gibb

The speech is highlighting that money really isn’t the thing people want most. It is the experiences and time that money can provide that is the driving force behind our desires. Challenge yourself, if you had money what would you do with it? That’s the thing you want. We need an exchange to produce the thing we want. That is why production is so incredibly valuable. Once you demystify money then you can start thinking about trade and creating value.

Have you ever looked at the root of production? Man’s mind is the root of all the wealth that has ever existed. And that has been made possible by producing goods. True production and wealth are created by taking ideas and concepts and making them a reality not through the physical effort exerted. A producer looks at someone creating value and is thrilled because it helps continue the cycle of creating value.

Cause and Effect

“Understand cause and effect and don’t get it mixed up. Especially when it comes to money.”- Bradley Gibb

At CashFlow Tactics, we don’t look at what billionaires are doing to earn wealth and tell you to go to the same. We understand that money is an effect so we look for the cause. We don’t look at what people are doing with their money. It is just a scoreboard and a result. We look at what they do to create value. Don’t confuse the two. Money is never the cause. It is the person behind it looking to create something, and that is where virtue lives.

Until you realize that money is the root of all good, then you are in the process of destroying yourself. We urge you to read or listen to Atlas Shrugged yourself. Learn to produce and exchange your innate human value. That is what it means to be free.

We believe that the more you earn, the more you can raise others in your community. That is the goal of our community. If you want to learn more about how money works, then check out our FREE 5-day Cashflow Tactics Challenge.

We are so excited to see you on the other side.
